Branding & positioning

A brand that makes the price feel fair.

We’re a branding agency that starts with one question: why should a buyer pick you? We answer it, say it simply, and build it into everything they see.

Foundations, deck, finish: positioning, messaging, identity. In that order.
The short answer

What a branding agency does

A branding agency works out how you’re different and why that matters to buyers (positioning and messaging), then expresses it in a name, logo, type, colour and voice. Then it rolls that out across your website, ads, social and sales material, so buyers understand you quickly and remember you.

We run it as one build with your website design & development and social media marketing, so the brand shows up the same way everywhere. See all services.

How it works

When a business needs branding

You need it when buyers can’t say why they should pick you over the alternatives, you keep competing on discounts, or your brand no longer matches what you sell or who you sell to. A new logo fixes none of those. Positioning does, and the logo follows from it.

The positioning canvas, in the order we work through it (the method in April Dunford’s Obviously Awesome).
  1. The alternatives

What a buyer does if you didn’t exist: a rival, a freelancer, doing it themselves, nothing.

  2. Your attributes

What you have that those alternatives don’t, in plain facts.

  3. The value

Why those attributes matter to the buyer, in their words.

  4. Best-fit buyers

The customers who care most, and so pay most readily.

  5. Your category

The market frame that makes all of it obvious in one line.

Rebrand or refresh?

Rebrand: the positioning changed

You sell to someone new, or sell something new. The look has to follow the pitch, so the pitch gets rewritten first.

Refresh: the positioning holds

Buyers already get you, but the look has aged. We update type, colour and templates and keep what people recognise.

Rebrand or refresh

Should you rebrand or refresh?

Refresh when your positioning still holds and only the look has aged. Rebrand when the positioning itself has changed: you sell to someone new, sell something new, or competitors now say what you used to say. A rebrand starts with the pitch. A refresh starts with the look. Both start with a baseline.

What goes into a brand system

A brand system is the set of decisions and files that make every piece of marketing look and sound like one business. It holds your positioning, your messaging, your identity and the templates your team uses daily. It lives in your accounts, in files you own, so anyone you hire can pick it up.

It’s built to work in your website, your ads and your social posts from day one, not to sit in a PDF.

The one number

How we judge a brand: the price it holds

Branding worked if one number moved: how often you sell at full price, the conversion rate on key pages, or your sales win rate. We agree which in week two and compare against the baseline. Branded search and discount levels show why it moved. We read all of it from your records, every Monday.

Choosing

How to choose a branding agency

Ask four things. Do they work out positioning before they draw a logo? Who does the work, and will they be on the call? Do you own every file and account from day one? And how will they tell you the brand worked? Portfolios show taste. These answers show whether the brand will earn its keep.

Our answers are on this page. Check any agency’s against the same four.

What it costs

How much does branding cost?

It depends on how far the work goes: positioning only, a full identity, or a rollout across your website, ads, social and sales material. Naming adds to it. After a first call we know what you need and what you already have, and you get a written scope listing every deliverable and its price before you commit.

Who it’s for

For businesses whose buyers compare.

  • Online stores Shoppers compare ten similar brands on price. More orders
  • Hotels & resorts Guests choose on a feeling before they see rates. More direct bookings
  • Real estate Developers compete for the same buyer’s trust. More site visits
  • SaaS & tech Founders need a pitch buyers repeat to colleagues. More demos booked
  • Clinics & hospitals Patients pick the clinic that seems most trustworthy. More booked appointments

Not a fitIf you only need a logo, a freelance designer is faster and cheaper. Our work starts from positioning, and it pays off when the brand has to hold a higher price or win a new kind of buyer.

FAQ

Questions about branding

About branding

Brand positioning is the answer to why a buyer should pick you over the alternatives, and who that buyer is. It comes before the logo because it decides what the logo, the website and the ads should say. We build it from customer research and a workshop, then write it as one statement your whole team can repeat.

Ask whether buyers still understand why they should pick you. If they do, refresh the look. If they don’t, the problem is the pitch, so rebrand. A quick test: read your homepage headline to three customers. If they can repeat it back, you likely need a refresh. We run that check with you on the first call.

Only if the current one blocks the positioning. A refresh is often enough: tidy the mark, fix the type and colour, and keep what customers already recognise. If the logo can’t work small, on a phone screen or in an ad, or says something you no longer are, we replace it. We tell you which, and why.

Branding decides what you stand for and why a buyer should choose you; marketing is how you put that in front of people, through ads, search, social and email. Marketing without a clear brand pays for attention it can’t convert, so buyers compare on price. Positioning first makes every later campaign work harder.

Yes. Naming is part of the positioning work, because a name should carry the promise. We build a shortlist from the positioning, check each name against domain, social handle and trademark availability, and say it out loud in the markets you sell in, before you choose. The final trademark check belongs with your legal adviser.

It’s the rulebook that keeps the brand consistent without us: how to use the logo, which colours and type go where, how photography should look, and how the brand speaks. Ours also include the templates, so a new hire or a freelancer can produce an on-brand ad or deck on day one.

Working with us

Typically six to eight weeks from research to rollout, though it depends on scope. Positioning alone is quicker; a full identity with a website and templates takes longer. We then use the following weeks to measure the result against the baseline, so the first 90 days cover the build and the proof. We confirm the timeline on the first call.

A positioning statement, messaging for every channel, identity files (logo, type, colour, imagery, tone of voice) and brand guidelines. Plus the working parts: your website and landing pages, ad and social templates and a sales deck. It’s a system your team can use on Monday morning, not a PDF that sits in a folder.

Yes. We set the system: positioning, messaging, identity and guidelines. Your designer extends it for the everyday work, with templates and rules they can follow without asking us. Many teams prefer this, because day-to-day pieces stay fast and in-house while the thinking behind them stays consistent. We brief them directly, with no account manager in between.

We run the candidate lines as small ads on Meta or Google to real buyers in your market, and watch which ones get clicked and enquired on. The winning line goes into the website and the pitch. It costs a little ad budget and saves printing a tagline that only your team likes.

Yes. We’re based in Chennai and work with businesses in India, the UAE, the US and Canada. A brand that sells in more than one market needs a name, a look and a tone that travel, so we check each against the language, culture and competitors in every market you sell in.

Yes, everything. You get the final logo files, fonts we’ve licensed for you to use, templates, guidelines and the accounts they live in, from day one. Nothing is held back until a final payment or kept on our systems. If you leave, you take the brand with you, so we have to keep earning it.
